We are so EXCITED to announce that our packaging design for @VictorialandBeauty is nominated for a PAC Global Award within the Inclusive Opportunities for Universal Packaging division. The goal of the award is to educate and transform the packaging industry to ensure accessibility.
We are drawn to innovators, and Victorialand Beauty founder @wattsvictoria invented the CyRus System of raised symbols to assist the visually impaired, a segment of beauty consumers largely ignored, to navigate their products. Named after her son Cyrus who was born with a rare eye condition causing visual impairment, the Cyrus System sets a new standard for how all consumer goods can create accessibility to the millions of visually imapaired consumers who don’t read braille.
Our VP of Design, Elisa Vitale, collaborated closely with Victoria to ensure that every step of the consumer journey with the brand was designed as accessible-first, even down to an embossed QR code on the outer packaging and accessibility best practices on social media.
Ring the bell for Victoria, her innovation and this game changing raised symbol system getting so much love!
