In 2007, I was working at L’Occitane en Provence and my friends and I would spend most summer lunch breaks at Bryant Park. Out of nowhere someone jumped in front of me and took a photo. The person moved so fast I wasn’t sure what happened.
Turns out it was the famous New York Times photographer Bill Cunningham, and to my surprise, I was included in his June 7, 2007 On the Street Column wearing my vintage postcard-scene circle skirt. (I have many of these incredible vintage skirts!)
I’m delighted to say that the photo is included in a gorgeous new book of Bill’s work, aptly named On the Street: Five Decades of Iconic Photography.
